Lana Turner: Posture is beauty and health aid

Judy Garland and Lana Turner

There are two exercises luscious Lana Turner -who has recently returned to the studios to work on a new film "Frankit from Frisco"- found immensely helpful in beautifying her back, and which she passes on to you.

"Good posture is not only important from a beauty standpoint, but is essential to health. Those who stand and sit correctly, seldom experience that aweful let-down feeling late in the afternoon."

And here are the two exercise routines which, if done each evening, will assure your share of health and back beauty.

First, stand against the side of a door - waist, back and head erect and touching the door - knees slightly bent, feet apart. Place hands at shoulders, elbows at the side. Now bring elbows up in the front, then back, and down in a circle. Repeat 10 times.

Next, in the same position, straighten arms, bringing them up in front, then back (you'll feel the shoulder blades drawing together) and downward in a circle. Repeat 10 times.

  1. those are two of my very favorite actresses. what a great picture

    1. I am not a big fan of Judy, but I do really like Lana!

  2. That it really and truly is and I can promise you that we as a society are going to pay the price big time on the posture health front for hunching over cell phones, tablets, computers and other digital devices so much nowadays. A body needs to be upright, straight and in motion, if at all possible, on a very regular basis, not curled over and fixated on a tiny screen.

    1. Oh I think it's a horrible sight seeing everyone slumped over the cell phones and such. Too bad, because there's so much beauty going on outside of the cell phones and all, and yes, we are absolutely going to pay a price for it.
