Hollywood Household Hints: Linda Hayes | Weekly Feature

Being worried about moths, Linda Hayes sprayed her closets with moth preventative. Then she made little cheesecloth bags, filled with whole cloves, and hung them on every dress hanger. The odor of the cloves disguises that of the moth-preventative and the closet has a freshness that is quite delicious to the nostrils.

  1. *Rushes out to buy an economy sized jar of cloves* What a great idea! I live in perpetual fear of moths getting into my closest and having their nasty way with my vintage clothes, but my sensitive skin can't stand most chemical moth repellents. I'll be giving this a try for sure. Thank you (and Linda) for the great idea!

    1. The most aweful, aweful smell in the world is that of moth repellent and I get so nauseous when I smell it. This was a tip I was quite enthusiastic about myself and I am absolutely going to give it a try, too!
